This week 3.9.26 Monday Jazz @ Brother Don’s featured guest Ninee Wolff. Ninee Petchprapa Wolff is a versatile multi-instrumentalist with roots in classical and jazz music. Originally from Bangkok, Thailand, she began her training through the Talent Research Project, touring internationally on flute and violin. After moving to the U.S. in 2001, she earned a BA in Music with a Jazz Specialization from Central Washington University, where she studied flute with Dr. Hal Ott and jazz saxophone with Tracy Knoop. She also pursued additional studies with Zart Dombourian-Eby, principal piccoloist of the Seattle Symphony. She earned a Master’s in Teaching from Saint Martin’s University in 2020.Her accolades include top placements in state and national competitions, including the NFA Jazz Soloist Competition. Ninee has performed with the Seattle Women’s Jazz Orchestra, appeared at Thailand’s Bangkok Jazz Night by the River, and was featured in the Black Box Jazz Series at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts.
Now based in Olympia, WA, Ninee performs regularly on flute, piccolo, and saxophone across the Pacific Northwest. She plays alto sax with the Olympia Jazz Senators and piccolo with the Bremerton Symphony. In addition to performing, she is an active educator, teaching privately, directing school bands, and serving as adjunct flute professor at South Puget Sound Community College.
