This week 6.24.24 Monday Jazz @ Brother Don’s features guest artist JEFF SHOUP. Jeff is a drummer, educator, and bandleader based in Michigan, known for performing in multiple genres including jazz, blues, and “jam rock” bands. Jeff hosts a successful, weekly live jazz performance series known as Jazz Tuesdays that has generated an international following on social media, and that draws in touring performers from as far away as NYC and Seattle, WA. Jeff performs regularly with the well-known Hammond organist Jim Alfredson (organissimo) and the living legend of the keyboard, Bill Heid. Other career highlights include performances with the world renowned, multi-genre guitarist Fareed Haque, jazz guitarist Randy Napoleon, legendary jazz bassist Rodney Whitaker, and a short tour with the late, great blues guitarist Smokin’ Joe Kubek. Jeff has been mentored for more than 20 years by jazz master Randy Gelispie. Jeff Shoup is a Zildjian and Vic Firth educational artist, and a Canopus Drums endorser.
