This week 8.7.23 Monday Jazz @ Brother Don’s features Francesco Crosara a Seattle area based Italian jazz pianist, composer and educator routinely performing in a variety of formations. Crosara’s original music melds an impressive mix of jazz improvisation, a romantic vein from his classical Conservatory training in Rome, bouncy lyrical expression along with strong Latin influences. His main jazz piano influences are Chick Corea, Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett, and Herbie Hancock. Also featuring Jonathan Greene retired bassist with the Seattle and San Diego Symphonies. Jonathan joined the Seattle Symphony as Assistant Principal Bass in 1998. He was the double bassist for the world premiere and recording of several MOR commissions: Thomas Pasatieri’s Letter to Warsaw, Paul Schoenfield’s Camp Songs and Ghetto Songs,and Gerard Schwarz’s Rudolf and Jeanette. He can also be heard on MOR’s recording of Jake Heggie and Gene Scheer’s Out of Darkness. Rounding out the band is Glenn Young on drums and Chris Bickley on sax.
