Monday Jazz this week 5.29.23 @ Brother Don’s will highlight Dave Cohen on drums. Dave is the last of the original Chris Bickley Quartet members we want to recognize for their talent and contribution to the success of Monday Jazz. Dave began taking drum lessons at age 10. Inspired by drumming legends Buddy Rich and 'Philly' Joe Jones, he went on to study with famed jazz drummers Vinnie Ruggiero in Rochester, NY,and Ed Soph at the University of North Texas. During the 80s, Dave led a rock band called 'Backseat Sally', which released an album on Atlantic Records and an MTV video.
